Why join
Belong to something lasting
As a member you have access to exclusive events, spiritual guidance, and the opportunity to contribute to the temple’s growth. Experience the joy of belonging.
The mandir was built by families who wanted somewhere in Michigan to keep their faith and their language alive, and it is still run that way — by the people who use it. Becoming a member is how you join that work.
Access to exclusive events
Members are invited to gatherings held for the temple community alongside the festivals that are open to all.
Spiritual guidance
A standing relationship with our priest and the board for the rites, questions and milestones that come up in family life.
A part in the temple's growth
Members take part in community meetings and help decide how the mandir develops and what it offers.
A place for your family
Cultural programmes, art competitions and youth activities that keep the next generation connected to their heritage.

Common questions
- Do I have to be a member to attend?
- No. Every puja, festival and weekly gathering at Shiv Mandir is open to everyone, free of charge, member or not. Membership is a way of supporting and helping to steer the temple, not a ticket.
- Is membership per person or per family?
- Per family. One enrolment covers the household, including children and any parents living with you.
- Do I need to be Bengali, or Hindu?
- Neither. The mandir was founded by the Sanatan community from Bangladesh, but it is a place of worship and culture for anyone who wishes to take part.
- What does it cost?
- Contributions are what keep the temple running, and the board will explain the current arrangement when they contact you. Nobody is turned away for being unable to give.
